About Us
About New Life Church
Our overarching corporate vision is to reach the disadvantaged of Franklin, surrounding areas, and
worldwide via the World Wide Web through preaching, teaching, and witnessing so that they might be
saved, discipled and able to disciple others. From the beginning, we have been on the "cutting edge" of
worship, ushering into Franklin new paradigms such as "praise and worship" and dance ministry.
History
In the late 1970's, Elder William Saunders started a home Bible Study fellowship. Regular attendance
quickly grew. Ultimately, the fellowship formally organized as New Life Church and Elder Saunders
was ordained as Pastor. Regular meetings were held at various venues - including the old Hayden
High School and in a storefront space next door to a pool hall on South Street - until 1985 when
construction of the Johnson Circle worship center was completed.
Over the years, Reverend Saunders became recognized as the "Pastor's Pastor" due to his much
sought-after pastoral wisdom and relationships with several covenant churches. In June 1999, he was
ordained as Bishop and his co-laborer Sherry was ordained Co-Pastor of New Life Church.
On November 15, 2007, the Lord called Bishop home to be with Him. Shortly thereafter, Co-Pastor
Sherry Saunders became formally recognized as Pastor of New Life Church.
